#TheLilyPadProject

The Lily Pad Project was my response to human trafficking and modern day sex slavery. After discovering the shattering statistics I knew I needed to respond through art.

I created 1500 lily pads and lotus flowers. Each one represented 100 women trafficed into the United States for the purposes of sex each year (doesn’t include, men or boys, forced prostitution or trafficking from state to state).

I created sculputures and sent them to friends ot photograph in addition to paitnings. Since this project I have continued to paint lotus flowers and lily pads.
