These female figures began on a 28 hour train ride through India. I saw the women in the fields over and over. When I returned to The States, I saw this shape over and over in my sketchbook and began painting her.

After those first two I began painting women from diverse backgrounds and giving them names. Many of the women are named after incredible women from the Bible.
